Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SHPRD, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service Description

SHPRD provides software tools for youth-ministry and team operations, including student rosters and access, planning, attendance, prayer, communications, billing, and related workflow management.

Accounts

You are responsible for account credentials and activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. Administrator and leader accounts are for adults age 18 or older. The direct student experience is designed for students in grades 6–12. A student under 13 may use it only after a parent or legal guardian has given verified parental consent; for older students, parent or guardian permission applies where required.

Organizations and Youth Data

If you use SHPRD for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for it and to provide SHPRD with its instructions. The organization controls its roster, attendance, event, payment, note, lesson, prayer, and other ministry records. It is responsible for access decisions, its relationship with students and families, required privacy notices, and obtaining legally sufficient parent or guardian consent.

A child under 13 may not use the student experience or submit information directly until a parent or legal guardian has given verified parental consent through SHPRD's parental-consent process. An organization may maintain adult-entered ministry records about younger students when it has lawful authority to do so. Organizations must not use SHPRD to avoid child-privacy, safeguarding, or recordkeeping duties.

Children Under 13 (COPPA)

Where the SHPRD student experience is made available to a child under 13, SHPRD acts as an "operator" under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and 16 CFR Part 312. SHPRD gives the child's parent or guardian a direct notice and obtains verifiable parental consent — through a consent form in the SHPRD parent portal that SHPRD confirms by email, or a signed form verified by a ministry leader who knows the family — before collecting personal information from the child in that experience, and does not condition participation on unnecessary information. The details are in our COPPA Children's Privacy Notice.

A parent or guardian may review the child's personal information, ask SHPRD to delete or permanently de-identify it, and refuse any further collection or use, at any time — through the SHPRD parent portal or by contacting coppa@shprd.life. SHPRD verifies the parent relationship and carries out the request within 30 days. If a parent does not give consent within 30 days of a child’s check-in, or an organization administrator removes the record from the parent-consent queue sooner, SHPRD clears the identifying details collected at check-in and keeps only a de-identified record that consent was sought and what happened; a refusal is cleared within about 7 days. A ministry organization keeps its own attendance and pastoral records unless the parent also asks the organization to stop.

Billing and Payments

Certain features may require payment. Payments are processed by Stripe on the web, Apple for App Store subscriptions, and Google for Google Play subscriptions, and may be subject to their terms and policies. Fees are non-refundable unless required by law.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse SHPRD, disrupt service operations, attempt unauthorized access, or use the platform in violation of law.

Content

You and the participating organization retain any ownership rights you have in data and content submitted to SHPRD. Personal information is also subject to individual rights that cannot be transferred by calling a record organization-owned. You grant us a limited right to host, secure, transmit, and otherwise process content to provide, support, and protect the service and comply with law. You may submit another person's information only when you and the organization have authority to do so.

Sensitive Ministry Content

Prayer requests, care notes, and ministry participation can reveal religious beliefs, health, wellbeing, or family circumstances. Use appropriate judgment, collect only what is needed, restrict access, and do not place emergency or safeguarding reports in SHPRD as a substitute for contacting the appropriate people or authorities.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the security and integrity of SHPRD.

Disclaimer and Liability

SHPRD is provided "as is" without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
